Soft Mornings & Other Forms of Quiet Power
Taking your power back after a life with trauma, is more subtle than you might think.

These days, I just sit in the quiet of my home. Interestingly, this pace feels more productive than my frenzied morning routines. This pace is simple and soft…and it allows me to sort through my thoughts better than those overwhelming mornings ever did.
For those of us with trauma histories…especially intergenerational ones…slowness can feel unsettling at first. We’re often descendants of people who didn’t have the luxury of soft mornings…who woke up to scarcity, to urgency, to grief, with a level of deep immediacy attached to it.
